Suffrage History

Minnesota Dames gathered at the home of Susan McCarthy to learn from suffragist historian Madeline Hansen for their Fall 2019 program, From Seneca Falls to South St. Paul. Hansen pointed out that South St. Paul women were the first in the country to go to the polls after the passage of the 19th Amendment. They voted on a city water bond referendum.
