More than 22 Minnesota Dames gathered to learn about the incredible resources of the Minnesota Genealogical Society and its library in Mendota Heights. After a greeting from Lois Mackin and overview by Shirleen Hoffman, we heard from Dame Charlotte Lozier, who gave an engaging talk about how she put together genealogical information for a family reunion presentation. Tours of the library followed the presentation and many Dames stayed for lunch.

Charlotte Lozier gave a presentation on her family's Danish, Dutch and Huegonaut ancestry. A tip: When searching for alternative spellings of a last name, say it out loud. LaShear = Lozier, for example.

Overview of MGS's resources was given by Shirleen Hofflan.

Library Manager Jeanne Bielke-Rodenbecker gave a tour of the library

Participants received this list of resources. Tip: Ancestry.com's mobile app has a mapping function you can use if you are traveling, to see what ancestors in your tree maay have lived in the area.
