Fall 2024 Historic Fort Snelling
About 20 Dames and guests braved the threatening skies to see the newest exhibit at the Plank Visitor Center at Historic Fort Snelling and take a brief tour of the grounds and historic fort itself. We were met at the entrance by Eva Widder, our new contact at the Minnesota Historical Society, and after time to explore the new exhibit, were met by experienced guide Suzanne Hofstra for a talk about the history of the region and founding of the fort. After our guided tour, we gathered for lunch and heard from Emily Roth, daughter of NSCDA-MN candidate Laura Roth, and president of Minnesota’s Children of the American Revolution, about her project. The rain held off until we were safely inside for lunch, and cleared up when it was time to go! Thanks to everyone who made the fall event so successful!
