We visited the newly-renovated Capitol building in St. Paul, Minnesota for our Fall 2017 program. The restoration project, begun in 2012, cost $310 million and encompassed 378,000 square feet in the 1905 building designed by architect Cass Gilbert. The careful restoration was truly amazing!

Our group heard a presentation on details of the project.

The Chandelier inside the Dome is six feet in diameter and has 40,000 crystal beads. The Dome itself is the second largest in the world, after St. Peter's in Rome.
